Google Duet is introducing a new AI feature to sheets here's how it works

After launching them in Docs and Slides, Google has expanded Duet AI features to Sheets. The business tweeted that the "help me organize" tool is being pushed out to Google Workspace Labs. "With Duet AI for Google Workspace, you can now stay organized in Google Sheets." "Just describe your goals, and Sheets will generate custom templates to help you get started," the business tweeted.

How Will the Feature Work in Sheets

In Sheets, users will see a "Help me organize" side panel. This field allows users to provide prompts such as "agenda for a one-day sales kickoff event with session descriptions and status." Users have the option of entering and further customizing a table. The goal is to simplify complex tracking and organization.

How To Get Started with Google Duet

To check out the new Google Duet AI features, Google Workspace users must sign up to join the Workspace Labs Wishlist. "We're designing our products by Google's AI Principles, which keep the user in control by allowing AI to make suggestions that you can accept, edit, and change," Pappu explained. Google also intends to deploy administrative controls to assist IT administrators in configuring and managing policies within their organizations.

The unveiling of Google's Duet AI comes only a few days after the Microsoft 365 Copilot Early Access Programme was launched this week. Users may produce and summarize data from spreadsheets and documents using the Microsoft 365 Copilot application. It's encouraging to see Google making Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet more helpful for Google Workspace clients.

Other AI Features Introduced

Google added the Help me write tool to both Gmail and Docs. Users of Gmail for iOS and Android may use the Help Me Write function by tapping the compose button in the bottom right corner of the screen. By typing in instructions like "A thank you letter for my job interview" or "A job application," the AI will produce an email draught that users may further tweak or amend before hitting the send button.

Furthermore, users may offer input on the created content or generate a new version of the text by just selecting the "Recreate" button. Furthermore, Google intends to make the Help Me Write function available on Google Docs, though the firm has not specified a date for this deployment.
