Google leverages AI and driving trends from Google Maps to simulate traffic patterns and make recommendations for optimizing signal light layouts. 

If there is existing infrastructure, city engineers can implement it in less than five minutes. Green Light has been adopted in the cities of Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Kolkata in India.

Google introduced Project Green Light in 2021 to lower pollution and improve traffic flow at traffic signals throughout multiple cities. 

Google has now unveiled new AI-powered tools for more successful project implementation.

Green Light, according to Matias, is already operational at 70 crossroads in 12 locations ranging from Haifa to Rio de Janeiro to Bangalore.
