The Vision Pro, Apple's mixed-reality headset, is getting ready to go on sale. The product is expected to go on sale in the United States at the beginning of the following year, with plans to make it available in Canada and the UK by the end of 2024.
The Vision Pro will soon be available in Asia and Europe as part of Apple's global rollout strategy. To help various business sectors, Apple engineers are allegedly taking a stab at limiting the gadget for nations including France, Germany, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Korea.
Beginning in early 2024, Apple's online store will be the only place the Vision Pro can be purchased, with plans to gradually expand its availability to other online markets.
It is anticipated that most Apple Stores will initially only have one or two demo units due to the limited supply and high production costs. Customers must schedule an appointment to purchase the Vision Pro in-store, and knowledgeable staff will ensure that the headset meets all of their requirements.
Beforehand, Apple intends to produce less than 400,000 headset units in 2024. In addition, two suppliers of specific components have disclosed that Apple has requested components for only 130,000 to 150,000 units in the first year, citing sources close to Apple and the Chinese manufacturer Luxshare in charge of initial assembly.
Apple has put off the release of a mass-market headset at a lower price point. Even though Samsung and LG have been working with Apple on the second-generation headset, sources say that the company insists on using micro-OLED technology even for the non-Pro version.
