Metavertu, Vertu's ambitious Web3 phone that runs its own node and turns photos/videos into NFTs

Vertu, the European luxury mobile phone brand, recently announced its new flagship Web3 phone. Metavertu is Vertu's ambitious Web3 phone that runs its own node and turns photos and videos into NFTs with one click. It will open for reservations on Sept. 28, 2022, and officially launch and open for global sales in London on Oct. 24. If the Metavertu is officially delivered on Oct. 24, it will be the first Web3 phone on the market — one that's not just a concept.

Web3 has been very hot on the market in 2022. From Bitcoin (BTC), blockchain, mining, and decentralized finance to Bored Ape Yacht Club, Web3 is an industry that has been breaking people's ingrained perceptions. So, will the Metavertu cause a revolution in both the mobile phone and Web3 industries? We will find out on the Metavertu release day.

The device itself is unapologetically aimed at the higher end of the market. All models sport a ceramic frame and Vertu's signature sapphire glass screen, powered by a Qualcomm SnapDragon 8 Gen 1 CPU. A 6.67in, 2400×1080 AMOLED display, three-lens camera array, and a 4,600mAh battery round off the standard specs list.

The entry-level model comes with a carbon fiber finish, 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage, and a $3,600 price point. The top-of-the-line model, meanwhile, has 18GB RAM and 1TB storage and comes wrapped in "Himalaya Alligator leather," 18K gold, and diamonds. The price? A staggering $41,000.

Luxury and design are at the forefront of Vertu's ambitious Web3 phone, with multiple colors in the finest materials and finishes available, fully customizable for a personal touch.

Additional ultra-luxury details are available with their bespoke service, including diamond detailing, gold finishes, and platinum additions for that extra special finish. The Vertu's ambitious Web3 phone exists at the intersection of fashion, design, and technology, a true accessory designed to be seen.

With that in mind, the Metavertu can switch between Web2 mode—the standard Android operating system seen on most smartphones—to Web3 mode. Users can create a wallet in a few clicks, with private keys protected by the phone's trusted execution environment (TEE), and access a suite of decentralized applications (dApps) through a friendly, Android-style interface.

According to an internal staff statement, VERTU's METAVERTU phone is the first to propose the concept of CNCOS, a 5-dimensional integrated ecosystem, which aims to integrate chips, smart terminals, blockchain, operating systems, and high-end services into one phone, and they want the WEB2.0 users to walk into the WEB3.0 seamlessly and smoothly. Such a WEB3 phone carries the perfect starting point for users' digital sovereignty and blockchain infrastructure that can truly help users create their own value. VERTU will give the reservations customers an airdrop NFT with special benefits.
