Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar recently stated that the government is working to realize the "Make AI in India" and "Make AI Work for India" visions. The following departments are utilizing AI chatbots to assist Indians:
"Umang" The chatbot is said to have been shortlisted for now and can assist users with popular services like the EPFO, blood bank, passport, PAN card, and driving license. In addition to English, Umang supports 12 major Indian languages. Bengali, Hindi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Sanskrit, Nepali, Manipuri, Maithili, Sindhi, Santhali, Konkani, Kashmiri, Dogri, and Bodo are some of these languages.
"DigiLocker" has been added to the government's list of AI chatbot-provided services by MyGov Helpdesk. WhatsApp's MyGov HelpDesk chatbot allows users to access documents on their smartphones, including pension certificates, educational certificates, Class X and XII mark sheets, driving licenses, and ration cards.
"Aadhaar Mitra," an AI-based chatbot developed to answer questions from residents, was launched by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). The chatbot, which aims to enhance the resident experience, can be found on the official UIDAI website.
"MyGov Corona Helpdesk" The MyGov Corona Helpdesk chatbot was introduced in 2020 on WhatsApp to assist individuals in combating false information and disseminating accurate information regarding COVID-19. It enables users to locate the COVID-19 vaccination center closest to them, download vaccination certificates, and receive notifications regarding COVID-19 situations.
"PAi," an AI-based chatbot developed by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), was launched to raise awareness of digital payment platforms like UPI. The chatbot is accessible round-the-clock. Users can inquire about banking systems and promotions. Some examples include: What is BHIM, "What is UPI," "What is IMPS," "What is e-RUPI," and "RuPay Offers"?
