The United States and India will come together and further develop AI

The Biden organization intends to use federal funding for U.S. research and development on artificial intelligence (AI) and other cutting-edge technologies. The United States and India are logical partners in diagramming the future development of AI, which guarantees economic growth and social benefits to the two nations in key areas like healthcare, education, energy, financial technology and retail.

India is an all-around nation and set to be a fundamental part of these endeavors, as the world's biggest democracy, a vital supporter for the developing world, and the home of a huge informational technology (IT) sector effectively collaborated with the United States.

Recently, the Department of Science and Technology announced that the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum-IUSSTF has introduced the US India Artificial Intelligence Initiative. It will concentrate on AI implementation in the significant areas that are priorities for the two countries.

India-US partnership in the field of Science and Technology is exceptionally an old collaboration. This has brought about extraordinary advantages for both the nations, said Ashutosh Sharma, the secretary, the Department of Science & Technology and adding that we need to scale it up in different fields, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can play a significant part in the future.

The goal-oriented flagship initiative, USIAI, uses IUSSTF's one of a kind ability to unite key partners from India and the United States to make synergies that address difficulties and opportunities at the interface of science, innovation, and society.

Also, last year, The US National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence proposed a US-India strategic technology alliance for building up technology strategy and research on cutting-edge technologies in the field of defence and security.

According to Eric Schmidt, Chairman of the commission, the commission will leverage artificial intelligence to address formal cultural concerns. The commission sees the relation between India and the USA is a significant step in the strategic focus of US strategy in the Indo-Pacific segment around emerging technologies with India as its point of convergence.

The United States and India share an interest in working with similar partners to deal with the geostrategic consequences of these new technologies, including the ascent of China as a global AI player. The Chinese government's turn of events and utilization of facial recognition and other social implementation systems conflicting with democratic standards has helped make the country an AI technology leader.

Artificial intelligence technology is being advanced and deployed in India through a network of 25 technology hubs functioning as a triple helix set up under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems.

The strong relationship between the United States and India will be quite useful for both the countries on the technology front  While India isn't yet a significant AI player, it has a skilled IT labor force and strategic plans to build up its AI capacity.

Further, in 2020, India, joined the alliance of driving economies including the USA, UK, EU, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea, and Singapore to introduce the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI).

GPAI is a global initiative to navigate the ethical development and utilization of artificial intelligence (AI), grounded in human rights, diversity, economic growth, inclusion, and innovation. This is likewise one of a kind initiative for advancing better comprehension of the difficulties and opportunities around AI utilizing the experience and diversity of participating countries.

The current pandemic has revealed to us the powerful potential of AI's capabilities across numerous sectors. An India-US partnership can empower the rapid development of AI technology as well as mitigating the challenges.
