Singapore’s Economy Expands by 4.1% in Q3 2024

Singapore's economy experienced significant growth in the third quarter, fueled by an increase in artificial intelligence. This growth dropped the demand for computer chips, as per the preliminary data on October 14.

The Asian city-state's economic performance is often seen as a reflection of the worldwide economic landscape. This is due to its significant dependence on global commerce.

The Ministry of Trade reported that a robust recovery in the crucial manufacturing sector was the driving force behind the 4.1 percent increase in the three months to September.

The manufacturing sector includes the production of computer chips. It saw a 7.5 percent increase year-on-year, recovering from a 1.1 percent drop in the preceding three months.

"Tech did all the heavy lifting for the manufacturing sector in the third quarter," said Song Seng Wun, Singapore economic advisor at CGS International Securities.

The OnePlus 13 is expected to come with a 6.8-inch Super AMOLED display boasting a peak brightness of 6,000 nits and 1,600 nits in high brightness mode (HBM).

It is also rumored to have a large 6,000mAh battery and an IP68/69 rating for protection against water. Additionally, it might support fast charging at 100W and magnetic wireless charging at 50W.
