TCS is Luring Employees Back to Offices with a 20% Salary Hike
TCS is luring employees back to offices in an effort by the company to get workers back
Since the Corona era, employees have become accustomed to working remotely and are unwilling to go back to the office. Businesses are attempting to get employees back to the workplace. Similar actions are taken by TCS, a significant Indian IT firm. TCS promotes physical attendance at work rather than telecommuting via social media. The company is doing this through photo and video updates on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. TCS is luring employees back to offices.
According to reports, the software service provider started this campaign a few weeks ago to evoke memories of the office through social media posts.
Along with promoting remote work, the company is using the hashtag “TogetherWeBelong.” This Instagram photo uses the hashtag, as do many others. Additionally, the hashtags “OneTCS” and “PeopleOfTCS” are being utilized to motivate employees and highlight the advantages of working remotely from the office.
The numerous campuses of TCS, including TCS Sahyadri Park in Pune and TCS, Think Campus in Bangalore, are highlighted on the business’s social media profiles. A bonus was the publication of a virtual tour of the TCS Olympus campus in Mumbai.
But it doesn’t seem like this advertising is making much of a difference. One TCS worker in Bengaluru stated that they would want to work remotely more frequently than in the office. Although working from home is more convenient, he said, “I feel that I am more productive if I do not spend time traveling.
According to sources, TCS is offering a 20% salary hike for eligible employees; the remaining TCS employees will receive a raise based on performance. TCS employs roughly 6 lakh people in total. Variable compensation determines between 10% and 20% of the salary. According to the report, TCS has chosen to offer 100% variable pay to 4 lakh workers in FY22.
The company recently established a 100% variable compensation plan. It was previously reported that the company’s net profit for the most recent quarter increased by 8% to surpass 10,000 crores.
The company would pay all qualified employees the compensation in the second quarter of the current fiscal year, according to TCS CHRO Milind Lakkar. Performance-based remuneration will make up the final 30% of workers’ compensation.
TCS lowered variable compensation for employees in the first quarter, as did rivals Wipro and Infosys. Entry-level employees at Wipro only received 70% of the variable remuneration that senior personnel received. Infosys followed suit and set a limit on total employee remuneration at 70% of the previous level.
Between July and September of this year, TCS employed 20,000 new workers, bringing the total for the entire year of 2022 to 35,000. The company will employ 40,000 recent grads, as was originally announced. Ten thousand to twelve thousand new employees will be hired by TCS, the company revealed.
TCS, however, has not formally endorsed the report.
