Should ChatGPT Fear Google Lens and Bard Combo?

ChatGPT must fear Google Lens and Google Bard for their AI tag team

With new Bard integration that will be rolling out "in the coming weeks," Google Lens, which has long been a helpful party trick for anybody who wants to recognize a flower or interpret their restaurant menu, is set to soar to the next level.

Google gave us a preview of their tag-team coupling of Google Lens and Bard at Google IO 2023, but it has since updated us on how the two will function and when we can expect it. According to a recent blog post by Google, you'll be able to "include images in your Bard prompts, and Lens will work behind the scenes to help Bard make sense of what's being shown" within a few weeks.

The example Google provided was based on online purchasing. You can ask Google Bard what they're called and, unlike ordinary Lens, ask Bard for styling suggestions if you have a snapshot of a new pair of shoes you've been eyeing up for a trip.

Of course, the Lens-Bard combination will be capable of much more than just giving recommendations on buying, with great potential for travel, education, and other things. Imagine asking a Lens-powered Bard, for instance, to name a tourist attraction and create a suitable day trip plan around it.

Additionally, there is more to Google Lens' new abilities. With a new function that aids in identifying any skin issues that have been bothering you, it is also making a timid foray into the health sector (see below). You may "just take a picture or upload a photo through Lens, and you'll find visual matches to inform your search," according to Google, to use the new function.

The ability to detect other bothersome ailments like "a bump on your lip, a line on your nails, or hair loss on your head" is also reportedly possible. These are not accurate diagnoses of illnesses, but they might be the beginning of a discussion with your doctor.

If you need to become acquainted with Google Lens, you can locate it quickly on Android by downloading the standalone Lens app from the App Store or finding it integrated into your camera app. Instead, you can access Lens in the official Google app for iPhone.
