Raj Muppala is an entrepreneur and an AI innovation solutions architect. He has over 18 years of global experience in playing various senior business and IT leadership roles. Raj is the Founder and CEO at HaiX AI. He has led digital transformation, big data, and AI innovation with Fortune 500 companies like Shell and Hitachi.
Talking about providing AI solutions, Raj says, "We all know data is growing fast and we need fast trusted insights to amplify Human Intelligence. Millions of companies lose 40-50% on Social Media and Marketing ad spend and doesn't get trusted insights for Risk, Opportunities, trending sentiment on marketing ads performance and social media data, to stay ahead and grow."
He also proclaims that most current tools stop at basic data aggregation and provide lots of reports, which isn't enough to find the key insights.
To address this big gap in the market for lack of real-time transparent AI solutions, Raj has founded HaiX AI with the vision to bring trust and transparency with Explainable AI solutions for organizations to stay ahead and grow. Within a very short time of eight weeks, Raj has built an innovative AI product called "Alivecore" using cutting-edge NLP, machine learning, and deep learning. Explainable AI is known for providing real-time insights such as trending issues, risk, growth indicators, and sentiment for a company or a portfolio from vast social media and marketing ads data. It helps companies to stay ahead, mitigate risk, and drive revenue growth. Raj mentions that this product has been very useful for customers during the pandemic to find the key insights and complement their human workforce and help them grow.
Raj states that data is growing at an exponential speed and he has seen the gap getting bigger in finding actionable insights on big data. This led him to start HaiX AI to build AI SaaS products for companies to easily use and integrate into their solutions and stay ahead of the curve. Some of HaiX AI's achievements in the tech sphere include bringing the latest AI research to build easy-to-use SaaS AI applications and Explainable AI, and machine learning and NLP to provide insights on unstructured data. The team, including Raj and a part-time AI engineer, built the first pilot within six weeks and since then, the company has been iterating with customers by scaling the products.
Raj shares that after having a very comfortable job for 18 years with Fortune 500 companies, working in a start-up for him needed absolute determination and faith. With any new start-up, many rejections stop founders to move forward.
Raj recollects the time when he started HaiX AI amid the pandemic, it was challenging. But with the company's clear value proposition of providing real-time actionable insights to the customers got perfectly aligned with the needs of the industry, everything started going well.
According to Raj, another challenge that he faced was to hire the right advisors in the business, as everyone tends to give their advice which is not right. "Releasing the product early and iterating the product is vital to learn from customers, so one can shape the product better and scale," claims Raj.
He opines that the hard lessons which he learned during his journey and his business acumen helped him to quickly build from an idea to the commercialization of scalable AI applications. Raj admits that these lessons gave him and his team the confidence to swim through the challenges.
Raj claims that with so much distrust in AI, using trust and transparency with Explainable AI is vital, along with an innovative mindset and absolute customer satisfaction. As everyone is on the bandwagon of associating with AI work, Raj articulates that it is vital to look at genuine business problems and see certain unique ways of solving them with transparent solutions. "Keeping great customer satisfaction is very important in bringing value," mentions Raj.
Raj shares that from day one, HaiX AI always has been customer-focused and given value to them by providing transparent AI solutions. "With this, we attracted great clients who have worked with us in shaping our product to cater for some of the common problems. Unlike other companies, we cater to the individual needs of our customers and develop our product with new features quickly, so they get the value," he presumes.
HaiX AI follows a three-step process to ensure a great value to their customers, according to Raj. He adds that the company's first step is to look at the new ways to bring efficiency to the genuine business problems with state-of-the-art AI, starting from research to application. Then, the second step is to enhance the solution with customers feedback under various use-case scenarios. Lastly, HaiX AI's third step is to ensure that the AI model algorithms are trained ethically so that they bring transparency and hence would be easy to use. To stay ahead with innovation, some of the top AI professors work as AI advisors at HaiX AI in order to bring their latest research to business applications.
Raj confesses that the increasing adoption of AI with cloud computing can bring efficiencies, grow revenues, improve customer experience, etc. However, in his experience, he understood that humans always come first and he feels that AI should always complement their work with transparency in their outputs. "This way, one will always achieve the best results when humans and AI work together, especially, using Explainable AI solutions will be very much needed for people to use," adds Raj.
Raj is driven by a strong passion for Explainable AI as it can bring efficiency to humans to solve some of the complex problems. He points out that HaiX AI is a human-first AI company that ensures transparent AI solutions to complement humans. "Innovative Explainable AI technology and an absolute customer satisfaction attitude have both helped the company to stay ahead of the curve and innovate with customers. Explainable AI paves the way to bring more adoption of AI for users," concludes Raj.
Raj recommends future leaders stay focused on a bold vision and bring transparent AI solutions to help humans solve complex problems. "One should not be afraid of being disruptive and look at new ways of innovation and always focus on customer satisfaction," advises Raj.
