Google made the Gemini app available in nine Indian languages and English on Tuesday. Gemini can answer questions via images, texted or spoken.

The technology giant stated in a blog post that people will be able to use the app and Gemini Advanced to access information and perform various activities in their choice language. The Gemini app will also include content in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

“Today, we are launching Gemini, the new mobile app in India that is available in English and nine languages of India; these nine languages are integrated into Gemini Advanced along with other new functions, as well as Google Gemini App Messages is also available in English,” said Sundar Pichai, the Google’s Chief Executive Officer via X (ex Twitter).

They launched new functions, including data analysis and file uploading, for Gemini Advanced, an AI chatbot that the company charges for. “We’re also bringing Google Gemini App messages to make it easier for you to work with Gemini on your phone, from writing messages to choosing dates or brainstorming sessions without leaving messages app; initially, the Google Gemini App

messages will only be available in English on selected devices,” said the company.

The same capability is also present in Gemini Advanced, which is based on the company’s most advanced AI model. It will also be available in nine Indian languages.

“…Gemini Advanced has an accessible worldwide consumer chatbot that has the longest context available,” said the company. The Gemini app provides a text box where users can type in their questions, an audio section where users can record their questions, and an image box where users can upload an image for the chatbot to answer.

“It means ‘take a picture of a flat tire to get instructions on how to change it or help in writing that perfect ‘thank you’ note,’ a feature that opens unlimited possibilities, making this the next step towards our goal of making the AI conversational, multimodal, and helpful,” Google added.

On Android, access to Gemini is provided through the app download or activation using Google Assistant.

For Apple’s iOS version, Gemini access will be available over the next few weeks from the Google app.

“Privacy is a top priority; Gemini does not share your files with Google, and your files are only visible to you and not used to train our services,” stated Google.

New advancements in user assistance through artificial intelligence were witnessed with the introduction of the Gemini app by Google in India, which is available in nine Indian languages, including English. The opportunities to type, speak, or upload images make it possible to apply advanced AI models and increase the availability of the app.
