Whiteline Group, a Bangkok-based marketing agency, has been in the news for a new form of an employee welfare system where an annual "Tinder leave" is given. This special benefit compensates employees with paid time off for dates and helps employees balance their personal and professional lives.
It was announced by the company’s HR via LinkedIn in August, that "Tinder leave" will be available from July until December 2024 for the employees of Whiteline Group. This policy extends to all employees who have passed their probation period and deems paid leave would be treated just like annual or sick ones. Workers during such periods are allowed to do whatever it takes to find romance or enjoy their private lives in the ways they see fit.
Along with the Tinder leave, Whiteline Group will provide its staff with a six-month premium subscription to either Tinder Platinum or Tinder Gold. These premium memberships give them additional features inside the popular dating platform that will help in find meaningful connections and allow personal growth.
Workers have to provide a week's notice before going on "Tinder leave." The policy is also extended to workers who joined between July 9 and December 31, 2024. The program was announced during an event where Whiteline Group showed its effort in work-life balance and employee welfare in general.
Whiteline Group pioneered "Tinder leave" in employee benefits, being highly progressive, and making one hell of a statement about how the company supports its people both in and out of the office. This benefit can be a game-changer for what businesses can do to contribute toward overall happiness and fulfillment for their employees.
