Microsoft reveals new AI-powered features in its classic Paint and Notepad apps for Windows 11. This new update is going to be more innovative with transformative AI tools for better productivity and creativity. The new update will also bring about easier and effortless editing of pictures and rewriting text.
Generative Fill and Generative Erase have been released under the new Microsoft updates. Generative Fill lets one fill in new content around an image by simply writing the description. The AI then reads this command and splices the content requested into that image. Users can very easily produce detailed edits such as adding a castle or changing up the background scenery. This will, however, only be available initially to users who have Copilot+ PCs based on Snapdragon processors.
Generative Erase lets users remove unwanted objects from an image, filling in the space seamlessly to make it look like the object was never there. The great thing is that this tool will be available for all Windows 11 users, not just those with Microsoft 365 subscriptions.
Notepad also gets an AI-powered refresh with the introduction of the Rewrite feature. The tool enables users to transform sentences and change the tone and the length of text easily. The users can do so just by marking any part of the text for rewriting suggestions designed to clarify or alter formality. Select Windows 11 users from targeted regions will get early access.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has optimized the performance of Notepad to launch the application faster, which now opens 55% faster than before. Microsoft continues with the approach of embedding AI in all its products, transforming daily tools for better work on Windows 11.
Microsoft is reimagining its classic tools with these AI updates to support creativity and productivity for modern users.
