Apple is reportedly ramping up production for its highly anticipated iPhone SE 4, which is expected to launch in early 2025. According to a report by AJU News, LG Innotek, one of Apple’s key suppliers, is set to begin mass production of the iPhone SE 4's camera components in December 2024. The start of production signals that the smartphone could debut as soon as March 2025, following the launch timeline of previous iPhone SE models, such as the third-generation iPhone SE, which launched in March 2022.
The iPhone SE 4 is set to have dramatically enhanced features such as a new and better A18 processor than the iPhone SE 3’s A15 Bionic. This new A18 chip makes iPhone SE 4 a performance beast with better efficiency that customers will be looking forward to using. Further, it has been listed that the new device will come with support for an OLED display compared with the earlier fashions containing an LCD panel for the iPhone SE. The OLED screen will feature a 6.06 inches LTPS OLED display with a pixel density of 1,170 x 2,532 and higher contrast ratio and color accuracy.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to come with some compelling features and one of such is its camera. One of the marketing rumours about the device is that it will feature the main 48 MP rear camera, like in iPhone 15. This would be a departure from the 12-megapixel camera present in prior SE models and deliver better performance as well as photo features to users . Since Apple prioritizes AI and machine learning, the iPhone SE 4 shall incorporate Apple Intelligence adding to features such as camera digitization, smart photography and improved usage.
In terms of battery, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to pack a 3,279mAh battery, offering better longevity compared to its predecessors. The device will support 20W USB-PD fast charging, 15W MagSafe, and Qi2 wireless charging, making it more convenient for users who prefer cable-free charging solutions.
Apple has not officially confirmed the details surrounding the iPhone SE 4, but reports indicate that camera component production is set to begin soon. Given that LG Innotek is scheduled to provide the camera modules three months ahead of the device’s launch, we can expect the iPhone SE 4 to be unveiled around March 2025, continuing the tradition of iPhone SE releases in the early spring.
With a focus on performance, camera upgrades, and enhanced display technology, the iPhone SE 4 is shaping up to be a significant step forward for Apple’s budget-friendly iPhone lineup. If rumours hold true, the iPhone SE 4 could become one of the most sought-after smartphones in 2025.
