In a bid to revolutionize online shopping, Google Shopping is rolling out new AI-powered features designed to enhance the shopping experience for over one billion daily users. By incorporating advanced AI models and leveraging the massive Shopping Graph with over 45 billion product listings, Google aims to make product browsing, price comparisons and purchase research easier and more efficient.
The new features will be available in the US in the coming weeks and Google is asking users for feedback as part of its continuous improvement efforts. Here’s a closer look at what’s new and how these AI upgrades will change the way you shop online.
One of the most significant upgrades to Google Shopping is the use of artificial intelligence to streamline product research. Google has redesigned the shopping experience with AI to help users find what they need faster offering detailed insights based on user searches.
For example, when you search for something like "men’s winter jacket for Seattle," Google will generate an AI-powered summary of key considerations for that specific product. This brief will highlight factors such as material, weather suitability and pricing giving users a clear overview of important information. Additionally, the AI will offer product recommendations from various sources explaining why each product matches the user's search criteria.
To make the research process even more intuitive, the platform will feature organized categories and dynamic filters, allowing users to refine their search based on size, availability and other preferences. Google is also integrating virtual try-on capabilities powered by AI and augmented reality (AR), making it easier for users to visualize how a product will look before making a purchase.
More so, Google Shopping is launching a much more customized approach with the introduction of a new homepage which will be user focused. This homepage will offer a stream of products as well as videos depending on the user’s past views so that they can resume from where they stopped in their search.
Furthermore, users will be able to manage their shopping preferences since it will be possible to modify and customize the feed or even switch off personalization by changing the “Shopping preferences” option in the menu. Casual shoppers or those who are into intense researching of products will be benefited from the new personalized feed as it will be easier to get the desired products.
According to Google Shopping’s latest update, the interface will assure that the consumers can save money, however, all the emphasis will be placed on linking the lowest prices and best deals available. The area will feature effective competitive pricing tools and timely insights regarding price levels and changes over different merchants.
A separate “deals” page will be available through the link entitled “Deals” found on the main page of Google Shopping; this will showcase the best deals that are available in the market today. To further assist the users, the apps’ use will enable product price drop notifications based on the users’ interest which will help them buy what they need cheaper.
Not only will Google Shopping Assist users with competitive pricing for products but there will also be a possibility to find and buy items from various stores within one place. For brands and retailers, the Enhanced capabilities to reach shoppers are provided, including shopping recommendations based on artificial intelligence and additional product ads.
Users can access the new Google Shopping features through the "Shopping" tab on Google Search or by visiting shopping.google.com.
