Oppo officially unveiled ColorOS 15 on Thursday, introducing a host of AI-powered features and significant user interface (UI) enhancements. Based on Android 15, this update brings a refined aesthetic experience, smoother animations and faster performance to Oppo and OnePlus smartphones. Users will enjoy features such as natural language processing through the Xiaobu assistant, seamless cross-device connectivity between Oppo and iPhone models and improved multitasking capabilities.
One of the standout features of ColorOS 15 is the updated visual design, with Oppo introducing new dynamic effects, natural light and shadow elements, and more refined iconography. The Aurora and Tidal Engines ensure parallel app animations, which greatly enhance the multitasking experience. According to Oppo, these updates result in an 18% improvement in app responsiveness and 26% faster app installations, providing a smoother and more efficient user experience.
The new ColorOS 15 includes even more features that focus on artificial intelligence. The Xiaobu assistant now sports enhanced NLP capabilities as well, making it possible for people to interact in Conversational interfaces. This function fosters better content awareness on the screens thereby providing customized recommendations like travel packages. On top of that the OS incorporates AI in a number of office related applications: the Notes application is capable of not just transcribing but also formatting and summarizing texts, while the document scanner is equipped with summarization and translation functions as well.Additionally, the voice recorder has been upgraded to transcribe and summarize recordings automatically.
Another interesting and useful addition is the O+ interconnection app that helps in the process of file transfer between one device and another device which can be an Oppo and an iPhone. This feature allows users to share videos, pictures, and documents with ease, increasing the efficiency and ability to work together on different devices.
The Photos application is enhanced by useful AI features such as portrait and reflection removal with a click, blur in portraits, and improvement in image resolution. In addition, EIS (electronic image stabilization) now also works for Live Photos which enhances the on-the-move picture taking experience.
