The world's largest online retailer, Amazon, has launched a new artificial intelligence video generation tool that lets advertisers produce dynamic ad material with just one product image.
The company said it is launching the tool on Thursday and hopes to ease the advertising process by generating content-rich videos that can show the selling proposition of a product as well as its unique or prime features.
Amazon Ads includes an AI video generator, which is supposed to produce videos that are six to nine seconds long and appear at 720p and 24 frames per second. The company claims these video creatives can be ready in as little as five minutes, with every iteration producing four variations for users to select. The ads will have a templated structure, featuring two scenes, headlines, background music, and a call to action, though users may opt to customize their soundtrack.
The company unveiled a live image feature that resides within its existing image generator, and this targets enterprise clients. The capability would let users create short animated campaign images similar to those found on many web pages-pop-up looping GIFs. So far, both AI tools are in beta for some US advertisers.
According to an Amazon spokesperson, the ad-specific video generator is built to create "beautiful" content, but it is still unclear if users can input natural language text prompts for specific instructions or edit already generated videos.
However, all in all, this would essentially change the way businesses could continue to market their products effectively and actively as the capabilities through AI technology of improving its advertising are seen to be ongoing.
