The second Educational event of Namaste Web3 Delhi, the education and awareness campaign launched by CoinDCX and Forbes India, was held at The Imperial Hotel on March 11, 2023, with the theme "$5 trillion Indian economy: Is web3 India's next great thing?".
India's ability to dominate the Web3 industry was mentioned at the event. And Undoubtedly, Web3 could be India's next big thing.
India is well-positioned to continue enhancing its technological capacity thanks to its youthful population and initiatives like Digital India, Made in India, Startup India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, MP, Rajya Sabha, Chair, Parliamentary Standing Committees on Commerce, Eminent Jurist, gave the keynote talk after Manisha Gupta, Editor – Commodities & Currencies for CNBC-TV18, gave a welcome speech.
Dr. Singhvi stated, "Web3 benefits from and strengthens India's greatest asset: its technical expertise," when discussing the $5 trillion economy and whether Web3 is the country's next big thing.
It is anticipated to have the most developers by 2023 as well.
We have barely begun to scratch the surface of the Indian digital economy, which between 2014 and 2019 grew at a rate 2.4 times faster than the nation's overall economy.
A special speech on Web3's role in citizen-centric governance was given by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, a former union minister, and senior BJP leader, after the panel.
"Right now, there are almost 100,000 startups.
Many of them are unicorns that supply goods outside of India.
Several of them are written by young people, and most of them are under 25 or 30.

The last panel discussion, titled "Developing Global Regulatory Guidelines for Virtual Digital Assets," brought the program to a close.
The panelists included Mr. Gaurav Gogoi, Deputy Leader of the Indian National Congress in the Lok Parliament and a two-term MP from Assam, Ms. Shweta Shalini, State Secretary of the BJP in Maharashtra, Mr. Gopal Jain, Senior Attorney, and Mr. Prashant Garg, Partner Consulting, EY.
"India is not the only nation learning about cryptocurrency.
India is highly different; thus we must take the necessary precautions.
Since cross-border global interoperability would increase acceptance of blockchain, I believe the G20 is a really good venue, said Shweta Shalini, highlighting the significance of the G20 with blockchain.
An evening meal and networking session marked the event's conclusion.
The Namaste Web3 event served as a demonstration of India's potential to dominate the Web3 market and the advantages that would potentially accrue to the Indian economy.
