Since February, Microsoft's Bing AI has been accessible online, but it only functions with Edge. Microsoft took advantage of Bing's rapid expansion to promote the default browser for Windows 11 to a wider audience. As the IT juggernaut finally gets ready to increase Bing AI support, this may soon change.
In a few days, Bing AI will be accessible in all popular online browsers, including Chrome and Safari. Over the weekend, Microsoft tried out Bing AI functionality in Apple's Safari for a limited period before rolling it back. Microsoft's customer service representatives verified that the business tested the enhanced Bing AI capabilities with select users.
Similar to the current site in Microsoft Edge, the Bing AI beta on Safari appears to offer a similar user experience. By extending Bing AI to more browsers, Microsoft might grow the search engine's market share and look at new strategies for directing visitors to Edge via Bing. This may be a significant victory for Bing's adoption.
The Redmond powerhouse requested comments from Bing mobile users in an email sent to a select group of Microsoft account holders. The feedback form appears to indicate that Bing will soon have new capabilities, including recommendations for new AI products. Bing will soon be able to promote AI tools or applications to consumers.
Microsoft is also thinking about creating a new AI-focused community.
Support for "characters with personalities in Bing AI" may be enabled by yet another modification. This is comparable to an experimental feature called "Modes" that we've seen in Bing before.
As part of the character upgrade, Bing may emulate human-like personalities like Elon Musk. According to the IT giant, this can lead to a "more engaging experience".
Finally, Microsoft may lessen constraints and limits in Bing Chat, allowing for greater "flexibility" as well as improved performance and dependability.
"Enhancements to the speed, accuracy, and consistency of AI functions," Microsoft said.
Although we don't know when the firm will start releasing these Bing AI improvements, we do know that the search engine will eventually allow plugins.
At the Build 2023 developer conference, where Microsoft unveiled Windows Copilot for Windows 11, which is powered by Bing, plugin support for ChatGPT was confirmed. Microsoft could fully incorporate Bing into the operating system and increase its market share by using plugins and Windows Copilot.
