Web3Auth and Flare Partners to Simplify Web3 App Logins

Web3Auth and Flare Partners to Simplify Web3 App Logins
Published on

Dubai: Flare, the blockchain for data, has announced a new partnership with Web3Auth which is a leading wallet-as-a-service (WaaS) infrastructure provider. The partnership was made to offer easy access to Web3 applications and services via email and social login credentials.

The Web3Auth integration eliminates the need for seed phrases while establishing or using a Web3 wallet on Flare. By permitting Web2-based logins, it enables a 'Web2.5 experience' in which users can rapidly access decentralised apps and services on the Flare network. This is done by entering existing Google, Apple, Telegram, Discord, and any OAuth-supported identities.

As seed words are difficult to understand and prone to human mistakes, a traditional and straightforward login method promises to improve user experience while driving adoption. The simple login approach that has been used for decades to access online and mobile platforms can now benefit both mainstream and crypto-native users.

Web3Auth integration may drastically improve the onboarding process for developers creating dApps or wallets on Flare, making it a far easier experience for their customers.

Web3Auth also enables the preservation of non-custodial wallet management system properties. In other words, users can retain complete control and ownership of their encrypted wallets, supporting the privacy and security principles inherent in blockchain technology.

Flare Senior Solidity Engineer Filip Koprivec commented on the Web3Auth integration, saying, "Onboarding non-Web3 users is a major hurdle for existing dApps and developers." A decentralised and secure method of merging traditional social login with Web3 authentication means that new users no longer need to set up private keys and can instantly use the product."
