Elon Musk has apparently fired the entire AI ethics team. The new layoffs conducted by Musk show the current chaotic situation with little to no prior communication towards the employees. They are suddenly being removed by company databases and their access to internal tools like Slack has also been revoked. Reports are still unsure as to why Musk dissolved a team that will be responsible for encouraging ethics and transparency in AI, after specifically aiming to make Twitter's algorithms open-source.
American tech giant, Apple, is planning on changing Siri's trigger phrase from 'Hey, Siri' to 'Siri' in order to improve efficiency in the smart assistant's performance and topple Amazon's Alexa. Reports claim that this change would mean that users would just need to say 'Siri' followed by an active command. Apple plans to implement a significant amount of AI training to enable these functions.
Instagram Head Adam Mosseri feels that the Reels function of the social media platform ought to work out, given Meta's unsuccessful metaverse strategies have gravely hampered the company's financial and economic conditions. The company is aiming towards improving Instagram and Facebook's recommendation strategy as well, especially the Reels, in order to financially expand its horizons.
