A newly discovered information from Microsoft's court docs, the PS5 Slim will be available

Microsoft believes a $399.99 PS5 Slim model will be released later this year. The software behemoth is now awaiting a decision in the FTC v. Microsoft hearing, and as part of the lawsuit, Microsoft testified in court. As part of the litigation, Microsoft disclosed that it anticipates a PS5 Slim will be introduced later this year.

Last year, Insider Gaming revealed that Sony was planning a PS5 with a removable disc drive for September 2023. The system is speculated to be offered separately without a disc drive or as part of a package, implying that Sony may be contemplating making the thinner version of the PS5 the default. This would allow consumers to choose whether or not they want a packaged drive, with the ability to add one later if necessary. You may now buy a $399 PS5 Digital Edition or a $499 PS5 with a disc drive, but there is no opportunity to connect an extra drive afterward.

Microsoft's projection also includes a footnote stating that Sony is expected to deliver a portable version of PlayStation 5 later this year for about $300, which needs to be corrected. Sony plans to release a mobile gadget later this year that can run Play Station 5 games over Wi-Fi streaming from a PS5 system. Microsoft did not identify any third-party sources concerning the PS5 Slim's timetable or cost in its findings of fact and conclusion of law.

If Microsoft is accurate about Sony's planned PlayStation hardware, it would not be the first-time secrets have been disclosed in the FTC v. Sony case. Microsoft case.
