India eyes the moon's South Pole with the Chandrayaan-3 mission Tomorrow

The Indian spacecraft has gotten closer to the Moon and is on track to soft-land on the lunar surface on Wednesday, August 23. On Sunday, the ISRO announced the successful reduction of the orbit of the Chandrayaan-3 mission's Lander Module (LM). The lander module of Chandrayaan-3, which was launched on July 14, successfully detached from the Propulsion Module on Thursday, 35 days after the mission was launched.

Chandrayaan-3 mission objectives are to show a safe and gentle landing on the lunar surface, wandering on the Moon, and conducting in-situ scientific experiments.

Asserting that the lander and rover of India's third lunar mission were designed in response to the failure of Chandrayaan-2, former Professor of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) RC Kapoor stated on Tuesday that the Chandrayaan-3 is fully equipped and will land successfully as planned.

The space scientist and astronomer told ANI that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has learned from the failure of the Chandrayaan-2 project, which was launched in 2019.

The gentle landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon is only a few hours away. The excitement around India's historic moon landing has grabbed not just the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), but also millions of Indians throughout the country.
