On TIOBE's list, C++ is third, just behind C and Python, and is experiencing a rise in popularity

According to the most recent version of the TIOBE Index, which monitors the "buzz" surrounding programming languages, C++ is experiencing a rise in popularity.

On TIOBE's list, C++ is third, just behind C and Python. "Java lost position 3 on the TIOBE index to the programming language C++ a few months ago. However, C++'s ascent still needs to be completed. According to the note sent with the data, C seems to be its next victim.

Other programming languages are experiencing similar growth: "JavaScript reaches rank #6, which is an all-time high. At positions, #10, #12, and #17, Matlab, Scratch, and Rust also tie their all-time high records. In other parts of the TIOBE ranking, we can observe that COBOL has recently returned to the top 20, and Julia is rapidly nearing it.

TIOBE uses data from numerous aggregators and search engines, including Google, Wikipedia, YouTube, and Amazon, to produce its rankings each month. A language must be Turing complete, have a page on Wikipedia, and receive more than 5,000 searches for "+" "language> programming" to rank. That methodology has generated some debate, with some claiming it could be a better way to gauge the adoption and usage of a language accurately. It does, however, provide some information about the languages that are getting attention, at least online.

The first commercial implementation of the C++ language debuted in 1985, making it a very old language. Its widespread use in legacy programs and services contributes to its popularity. A tonne of software tools (like compilers) is still created using this language. Start by looking at tutorials and documentation online (most of it is free) if you want to learn C++. For instance, w3schools includes thorough C++ training. You may also start your learning adventure at online learning hubs like Codecademy and freecodecamp.
