Apple has announced Rapid Security Response updates for iPhone, iPad, and Mac computing devices. A fresh Rapid Security Response upgrade from Apple has been made available for iOS 16.5.1, iPad OS 16.5.1, and macOS 13.4.1. This update fixes a security flaw that might have allowed an attacker to run arbitrary code on a user's device in the WebKit web engine. All iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 versions are affected, along with macOS 13.4 and later.
These updates are created to offer users efficient and speedy security solutions for any found flaws. The significance of a prompt and effective security response cannot be overstated in a world where cyberattacks are growing more common. With these security updates, Apple can quickly fix these flaws and give people the protection they require.
Users should open the Settings app on their phone or tablet and select "General" > "Software Update" to apply the Rapid Security Response upgrade. The update will be listed under "Available Updates" if available. Apple advises all users to immediately apply the Rapid Security Response update.
The Rapid Security Response version also includes a variety of bug fixes and performance enhancements in addition to security vulnerabilities. Apple has now delivered two Rapid Security Response updates so far this year. The first update was made available in May to resolve a vulnerability in the Safari web browser.
