Businesses can utilize IoT Core to define the configuration possibilities for recently installed linked devices

Similar IoT services are offered by Google Cloud rivals Microsoft and Amazon Web Services (AWS). After Google Cloud announced it will be ending its primary IoT services, customers had until August 2019 to choose a new IoT provider.

The IoT Core Service would be discontinued on August 16, 2023, at which point access to the IoT Core Device Manager APIs would likewise be discontinued, according to an update from the IoT Core Product Team of Google Cloud. The business urged that to switch from IoT Core to another service, "We implore you to act immediately. If you have any questions regarding your migration plans, get in touch with your Google Cloud accounts executive right away."

To make it easier to send data from linked devices to a company's cloud environment, Google Cloud released IoT Core Services in 2017. Businesses can utilize IoT Core to define the configuration possibilities for recently installed linked devices.
