Chipmaking giant, Intel, plans for a major reduction in its headcount, given the present condition of the computing industry. The layoffs will be announced this month itself, and reports claim that its marketing and sales domain will witness a 20% employee cutoff. Basically, the decade-high inflation and re-opening of offices and schools have led people to spend less time on their PCs, than they did during the lockdowns, which is why the computing industry is facing a major blow this year.

Meta finally launched its US$1,500 VR set for working professionals. The Meta Quest Pro is designed to entice content creators and working professionals to jump into Meta's metaverse bandwagon. The Quest Pro possesses a ton of improvements as compared to the company's Quest 2 headset, which was launched back in 2020.

Under pressure to keep up with the evolving nature of technologies, Apple plans to roll out its 5G services for iPhones in India, this December. Apparently, top government officials were scheduled to meet executives from Apple and Samsung to prioritize rolling out 5G services in the Indian market. For iPhones, the 5G services will be enabled via a software update and iPhone users can enjoy immersive networking and internet service from December.

Tech giant Google has partnered up with Coinbase to start accepting crypto payments for cloud services, from next year. At Google's Cloud Next conference, the company's executives stated that Google will start receiving crypto payments through the integration of Coinbase. Initially, the crypto payment services will be rolled out for its customers in the Web3 industry, but Google will also offer Coinbase's custody service to its customers, known as Coinbase Prime.

The OECD organization presented a framework on Monday that focused on increasing international transparency in crypto regulations. The G20 tasked the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development to roll out a complete framework for the proper deployment of cryptocurrency tax reporting between nations. The new initiative will focus on coming to an alternative against the rapid adoption and use of cryptocurrencies for a wide range of investment and financial uses.
