Google has introduced the Search Generative Experience, an AI-powered feature

Google Search is one of the most popular and powerful tools on the internet, helping billions of users find the information they need daily. But Google is not satisfied with just providing links to web pages. It wants to make search more intelligent, creative, and conversational. That's why it has introduced the Search Generative Experience (SGE), an AI-powered feature that generates summaries, answers, and insights from the web.

SGE is currently available as an experiment in Search Labs, a platform where users can try out new and innovative features for Google Search. If you enable SGE in Search Labs, you will see a colorful summary box at the top of your search results, where Google's AI will try to provide you with the most relevant and helpful information for your query. You can also ask complex questions or requests, such as "How to plan a trip to Japan" or "Write me a poem about love," SGE will generate responses for you.

One of the most exciting aspects of SGE is that it can now show images and videos within the summary box, where it makes sense. For example, if you search for "tiniest birds of prey," you can see what they look like and get more information from the web. Or if you search for "how to do a handstand," you will see videos demonstrating the technique. This makes search more visual and allows you to learn new things more easily.

Google is also working on making SGE faster and more contextual. It has reduced the loading time of the summary box by half, and it has added publish dates next to the web links in the box, so you can see how recent the information is. Google says that SGE is still in development and will continue to improve and expand its capabilities over time.

SGE is a glimpse into the future of Google Search, where AI will play a bigger role in creating and delivering information
