Read about the Ferrovial and DXC partners with Microsoft for the Quercus project

The two firms, Ferrovial and DXC Technology, the American Technology Consultants, are jointly working towards the development of the platform, known as Quercus, to speed up and extend the adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in all their business areas and assets. DXC will take care of running the Quercus application, developing it, and marketing it, which is based on a generative AI solution by Ferrovial Group. Microsoft will be the technological supplier for jumps from running this platform.

Quercus is associated with the technology infrastructure and logic of the business that can be viewed as a foundation for the addressing of AI problems broadly and the designing of solutions that are solid, effective, and simple for any entity, from big companies to individual holders. It involves incorporating those vital technical aspects for data security and privacy, the ability to link with other systems, and the harmonization of AI models forming Generative AI. With its learner service capability, Quercus will shorten the time spent creating solutions that best meet users' needs.

The first version of the platform is already available, and it has provided Ferrovial with a marketplace of Generative AI-implementing Automation assistants that can be used without having to go through a single employee or by Human Resources and Cybersecurity specialists.

Together with DXC's and Microsoft's technology Ferrovial plans to deploy Quercus in dozens of projects. "Quercus will help us streamline processes, generate designs, simplify applications for health and safety and, in general, improve our operations," Dimitris bountolos (CIIO) said at the signing ceremony in Madrid. DXC Technology Global CEO Raul Fernandez, DXC Technology Europe Market Leader Juan Parra, and Microsoft,  Spain President Alberto Granados were the other guests besides Leandro Garcia.

The AI Technology Centre of Excellence in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) promotes the development and marketing of these technologies for external parties, and it counts on Microsoft Technology's support.

"Ferrovial's deal with us demonstrates the great progress the world is making in terms of AI-based support services for the business." Such a setup pledges to lead the innovation roll-out of the generation of AI technology in terms of its application in the field of technology solutions. DXC is convinced of the usefulness of Quercus, which can help their customers to proactively innovate and manage the profitability and efficiency of their company in a globally competitive market. This will give them great prestige and dominance over their competitors." Based on Juan Parra, the Market Leader of DXC Europe, statement.

Thanks to Microsoft support, this platform will develop more and be able to provide its customers with a much broader set of services, thereby increasing its popularity among other companies that are interested in it as well.

"Microsoft wishes to acknowledge, through such partnership, the role of both Ferrovial and DXC Technology on this joint business based on Microsoft's Responsible AI technology. For the technology to become a useful component impacting our society as a whole in an ethical and meaningful way, we believe that AI solutions must adhere to various criteria, such as those that involve elements of security, privacy, reliability, neutrality, impartiality, transparency, fairness and inclusiveness," Alberto Granados, President of Microsoft, Spain declared.

Ferrovial's increased experience in Generative AI made for Quercus will boost the platform's performance and identify the good practices that any other company working in a range of sectors could absolutely apply.
