The first part of the idea was that character eating, so what would happen if we made that into a yellow circle with a mouth? We had a different game in mind, a game that’s fun that’s for everyone, especially women and children.Puck Man was the name of the game when it was first released in Japan on May 22, 1980. Nevertheless, the "P" part of the word was changed to create Pac-Man for the North American launch later that year due to fears of vandalism (where the "P" could be changed to an "F").
It is deceptively simple, yet highly addictive gameplay. Players navigate a maze filled with pellets while avoiding four colorful ghosts: Pinky, Blinky, Inky, and Clyde. We want to eat all of the pellets and not be caught by the ghosts. The ghosts are temporarily turned on their head when Pac-Man eats more power pellets. Thankfully, Pac-Man’s blend of strategy and reflexive gameplay was a unique one in a world filled with contemporaries, but many others’ competitive games didn’t closely follow it.
Pac-Man was an instant hit upon its release, transcending the bounds of games to become a cultural icon. Indeed, one of the first games to draw in a large and diverse audience of young and old men and women. And a full facelift of an animated television series.The catchy theme music and distinctive character design made Pac-Man instantly recognizable. Reference to it has sprinkled in countless movies, songs, and television shows, cementing its place as a pop culture phenomenon.

In celebration of Pac-Man's 30th anniversary on May 21, 2010, Google’s interactive Doodle let users play a version of the game from the Google homepage itself. It was an old-fashioned nod to the classic game that delighted old fans as well as new players. Millions played the Doodle all day long.The original gameplay mechanics were featured in the Doodle whilst sporting modern graphics and sound effects. As sequels and spinoffs like 'Ms. Pac-Man,' 'Pac-Man World,' and mobile adaptations make the spirit of the original go on, the franchise has expanded. In the past few years, there have been augmented reality games like "Pac-Man Geo," allowing players to play and interact with their real-world surroundings via gameplay.
Pac-Man was also evolving along with technology. A new platform was not something new; they embraced a franchise for arcade cabinets to home consoles to mobile devices. It has become equally adaptable to new face molds of gamers while simultaneously maintaining the purest core of what it is.But more importantly, Pac-Man’s online multiplayer features have also modernized play: players can now compete against each other in real time or cooperate on a host of different challenges.
