Tesla has had its share of setbacks too. In May 2016, an automobile running in computer-aided mode (autopilot system) was involved in a deadly accident in Florida, killing the 40-year-old driver. However, the US National Traffic Highway Technology Administration (NHTSA) has discovered no flaws in the system, indicating that Tesla's autopilot-equipped vehicles do not need to be recalled. Tesla continues to improve its systems while keeping an eye on the big picture and the future. And this approach to sustainable leadership is becoming a paradigm for firms that wish to compete in the market by making long-term profits while protecting the planet's resources and contributing to the creation of a sustainable society.
