Check out the details of the verified crypto accounts on the darknet on sale at just US$30 each

According to reports, cybercriminals operating in the darkest reaches of the internet are offering to sell verified crypto accounts on the darknet for as little as US$30 each.

Cybercriminals have been selling all kinds of fraudulently obtained financial account information on the dark web, according to a research paper published on April 24 and published by online data security provider Privacy Affairs under the title "The Dark Web Price Index."

Some of the fraudulently obtained verified cryptocurrency accounts' prices include:

  • Account verified by Kraken: US$1,170
  • Binance confirmed account: US$410
  • Verified Crypto.com account: US$300
  • Coinbase confirmed account: US$250
  • Bittrex account verified by the US: US$30

According to data from the most recent edition of the Dark Web Price Index, the prices paid for the same account information in 2022 will rise by US$30. In 2022, hackers could obtain verified accounts on Binance and Kraken for only US$250 and US$260, respectively.

Hacked records can be utilized to wrongfully avoid Know Your Client (KYC) measures on famous digital money trades.

Digital money accounts aren't the main things on the rundown. Login credentials for online bank accounts with balances up to US$2,000 can be purchased for US$60, while information for credit cards with balances up to US$5,000 can be purchased for just US$110.

Starting at as little as US$25 each, login information for a wide range of social media accounts, including hacked Facebook, Airbnb, and Gmail accounts, is also available for grabs.

In an explanation concerning these stunning new figures, Protection Issues security scientist Miklos Zoltan said that web clients should be warier of their data than at any other time in recent memory.

"The prices listed above are basically what it's worth to them if someone gets their hands on your financial information or social media credentials," Zoltan elaborated.

The problem of accounts being hacked at well-known crypto exchanges is getting worse in the industry.

As of late, a client of U.S.- based digital currency trade Coinbase recorded a claim against the organization following an assault on him.

After falling prey to a malicious hack known as a "SIM swap," in which scammers trick the telecom provider into linking a phone number to their own SIM card, he stated that he had wasted "90% of his life savings."
