Dogecoin (DOGE) is undeniably Musk's favourite cryptocurrency, Tesla's CEO regularly rambles about it through its eclectic tweets. This recognition propelled DOGE to an all-time high of $0.74 last May 2021.
Started as a meme project in 2013, Dogecoin is now firmly anchored in CoinMarketCap's Top 15 largest cryptocurrencies by market cap, equalling other industry-leading "serious" projects such as Avalanche (AVAX), NEAR Protocol (NEAR), or Polygon (MATIC).
However, DOGE's price has fallen significantly since its peak, now hovering around $0.14. However, Dogecoin has evolved noticeably from its stereotypical meme coin status to a more serious one, notably by announcing improvements in its ecosystem's utility within its 2022 roadmap.
The Dogecoin Foundation announced the construction of Dogepedia and Libdogecoin content libraries, as well as the "Gigawallet", a highly-adaptable API that allows developers to start processing DOGE transactions in a few minutes.
Earlier last month, Musk also stated that Tesla would start accepting DOGE payments at its charging stations. significantly increasing Dogecoin's institutional recognition as a solid and credible project in the crypto space.
Two days ago, DOGE jumped 7% as Musk revealed a 9.2% stake in Twitter and subsequently joined the company's board.
Shiba Inu (SHIB) was launched in August 2020 and has become one of the most popular cryptos on the market. Shiba Inu is named after the charming-looking dog who has generated so many memes in the past years.
Like DOGE, SHIB is part of the Top 15 largest cryptocurrencies club. It is now in 15th place and has proven its ability to build a tight-knit and loyal community since its launch.
Shiba Inu plans now to set up ShibaSwap, a decentralised exchange (DEX). Similar to Dogecoin, SHIB's popularity exploded partly thanks to the attention it received from Musk on Twitter. This led major cryptocurrency exchanges like Coinbase, BitStamp, and Bitso to list SHIB, further increasing the project's recognition and attractiveness to new investors.
Now, Shiba Inu wants to go further, and its foundation recently announced the development of a Shiba metaverse called Shiba Land. This initiative sets high expectations for SHIB's long-term growth as investors are particularly interested in anything metaverse-related right now.
SHIB is now trading at a much lower price since its last all-time high of $0.00008, indicating a potentially good buying point.
One of the latest initial coin offerings (ICO), Quitriam Finance (QTM) is currently offering its token, QTM, for presale at a price of $0.000011.
While this project is still in the presale stage, it shows ambitious initiatives in its whitepaper available online.
Quitriam Swap, the project's home-grown crypto DEX, is currently undergoing development. If the whitepaper is correct, Quitriam Swap could handle up to 50,000 transactions a second, which would be over 3,330 times more than the Ethereum network can.
In order for this to happen, Quitriam Finance is going to set up a multichain deployment. This will allow Quitriam Swap to automatically route its trades through the fastest and cheapest blockchain at all times, and process transactions more quickly overall.
Quitriam Finance isn't the only project launching soon, another one is Solana-based Pacman Frog (PAC), which also aims at developing a decentralised community and is in its presale stage at the moment. Unlike Quitriam Finance, Pacman Frog contains gaming and entertainment features, as well as liquidity and NFT solutions within its ecosystem – both, are worth a look before their tokens go public!
