DBMS is system software used to create, store, manage, update, and retrieve data from databases. Whereas RDBMS is software that allows the creation and management of tabular databases for efficient data retrieval, updating, and storage.

In DBMS, data is stored in files in relational databases. It is organized either hierarchically or in a navigational fashion. In RDBMS Tables are used to store data. There is no hierarchy; instead, a relational model is used. Columns are the headers, and rows contain the values.

The DBMS supports only a single user. Whereas, RDBMS the system allows you to access multiple users.

The DBMS does not support normalization. Whereas RDBMS supports normalization for relational database models.

DBMS does not support storing a hefty amount of data. Whereas, RDBMS allows users to store a large amount of data.

In DBMS, there are no relationships between the data stored. Relationships are formed between the data stored in tables in RDBMS.

In DBMS, the process of fetching the data is slow whereas in RDBMS the process of fetching data is faster and more efficient due to its relational model.

Database distribution is not supported by DBMS. A distributed database can be stored in multiple locations. RDBMS can handle distributed databases.

DBMS requires only the most basic software and hardware. Whereas, RDBMS has more stringent hardware and software requirements than traditional DBMS.

Any data integration constraints or methods are not supported by the Database Management System. Whereas The Relational Database Management System supports data integrity constraints.
