Coinbase, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, has launched a new fee upgrade program for its advanced trading platform, Coinbase Advanced. The program aims to attract high-volume traders from other exchanges by offering them lower fees and premium customer support.
Coinbase, the fee upgrade program allows traders with over US$500,000 in monthly trading volume on another exchange to fast-track to lower fee tiers on Coinbase Advanced. Traders can apply for the fee upgrade by providing proof of their trading volume, and if qualified, they can pay as low as 0.0% maker fees on spot trades on Coinbase Advanced.
The fee upgrade program is valid for 60 days, after which the traders' monthly trading volume on Coinbase will determine their ongoing fee tier. Coinbase claims that the fee upgrade program offers lower fees than the traders' current exchange and that the traders will also enjoy complimentary premium customer support during the 60 days.
Coinbase Advanced is the advanced trading platform offered by Coinbase, which features over 500 spot pairs, derivatives trading, and up to 5.1% USDC rewards. Coinbase Advanced uses a maker-taker fee model, and traders can enjoy 0.0% maker fees for 22 stable pairs. There are no spread fees and no subscription fees to trade on Coinbase Advanced.
