Urvit Goel, Polygon's vice president of games, made efforts by the blockchain protocol company to achieve that.
According to Goel, especially in gaming, 2023 will be the year that blockchain and gaming will be judged heavily on all of the promises that are being made about great games. We want to begin seeing a portion of those games. There will be sufficient to begin determining quality. Many of these builders who are operating in stealth mode have not yet released a product.
He says that Polygon has been at the forefront of Web3 gaming by integrating popular NFT marketplace Magic Eden and leading games in the industry like The Sandbox and Dencentral Games.
DappRadar reported that despite the industry's setback caused by FTX's collapse, investment in the Web3 blockchain gaming sector has continued to exceed $500 million between October and November.
Goel stated, our focus will be on helping these builders come to market, whether that be with broad tooling to make launch easier or new scaling technology.
After working for a decade at Amazon in roles related to games, Goel joined Polygon about a year ago. This was his first time working on Web3 for the company. He is Polygon's head of games, and his mission is to encourage game developers to use blockchain technology. He reports to Ryan Wyatt, who used to be in charge of YouTube Gaming and now manages all of Polygon's vertical industries.
Goel believes that the blockchain game industry is approaching adulthood. During the early days of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, when the market was booming, people created very basic experiences that made money but gamers thought were just noise.
