Microsoft has revealed that Bing will be open to all significant announcements three months after launching the new Bing-powered by ChatGPT. The new Bing's first rollout was limited and included a waiting list. Microsoft has just announced that Bing will be available to everyone. Corporate Vice President Yusuf Mehdi.
Today, I'm thrilled to share that we're moving to the next generation of AI-powered Bing and Edge to transform the world's largest category of software search by significantly broadening the vision and capabilities we refer to as Your Copilot for the Web.
Bing users, according to Mehdi, have engaged in almost half a billion talks in three months. Not only that but 200 million photographs have been made using Bing Image Creator, another AI-powered application. Bing has surpassed 100 million daily active users, and daily installations of the Bing mobile app have climbed fourfold since its inception.
According to Mehdi, users have been using the chat feature to ask all kinds of questions. These range from determining the best place to travel for someone with pollen allergies to compiling a table of global volcanic activity over the last ten years. We're excited to keep making Bing more accessible by introducing it to the Windows taskbar, serving over half a billion customers each month.
The new Bing began as a text-only search paradigm but has now expanded to include photos and videos in its replies. With chat history and persistent chats within Edge, users can transition from single-use chat/search sessions to multi-session productivity experiences.
Microsoft also stated that it has been expanding platform capabilities so that developers and third parties may build on top of Bing to assist consumers in taking action on their inquiries and completing tasks.
