Indian edtech startups and NITI Aayog are encouraging children to become entrepreneurs.

India's edtech companies have unleashed their full potential in 2020. NITI Aayog, which concerns itself with developing a state-of-the-art resource center to promote research and innovation for the Indian government, initiated a program to enlighten young minds with entrepreneurship in 2016. Known as The Atal Mission Innovation (AIM), it aims at encouraging children to have a problem-solving mindset in school that can result in entrepreneurship in the future.

While the COVID-19 pandemic, since 2020, has hampered the Indian education system by shifting it from on-premises to online, AIM could not be enforced to its maximum in schools. Despite the challenges, the need for practical learning has to be maintained for future adults.

As edtech companies have taken a lead by digitizing education for the modern era, they have taken the stance to set up Atal Tinkering Labs in schools along with other services necessary for the budding 'kidpreneurs'. With the availability of these services, students can experience 21st-century technologies like IoT, 3D printing, AI, and Robotics.

To attract young minds towards fields like STEAM, robotics, IoT, and artificial intelligence, the company provides Custom Designed Patented DIY Kits, STEM-based Toys Innovative Pedagogy, World-Class Content, and Methodologies through a team of 200+ innovation engineers.

As mentioned by NITI Aayog, STEMROBO Technologies are the ATL equipment vendors for more than 1200 Atal Tinkering Labs in schools like Kendriya Vidyalaya, DPS, DAV Public School, Bharatiya Vidhya Mandir, and Apeejay School.

RoboKart's mission is to explore, experiment, and learn robotics the right way to develop STEM in India. Apart from providing components to set up labs in public schools, RoboKart has also tried to take this initiative to government schools in rural areas. In an attempt to further promote this inquisitiveness, the startup will launch a new module to enable users to learn without physically attending the training programs, along with online courses for kids.

Based out of Ludhiana, Whizrobo provides products and training materials for artificial intelligence and robotics to the K-12 segment. To create awareness about STEM education, the startups provide online courses, Robotic Kits, Online Workshops to motivate young minds to innovate. Whizrobo is an authorized channel partner for Punjab with AVM infotech India Pvt Ltd and is a listed vendor for NITI Aayog's initiative.

Since its inception in 2009, the company manufactures and sells robotic kits. With its main focus on robotics, the startup also develops an in-school robotic curriculum for children and installs robotic and science labs in schools. True to its name, Avishkaar aims to create an ecosystem with interactive learning experiences that encourage innovation in STEAM fields.

With a mission to cultivate students as neoteric innovators and future prodigies, Comp Point has set up Atal Tinkering Lab in 35 schools.
