San Francisco, CA — May 8th, 2018 — Stanford University's venture capital fund, Stanford-StartX Fund LLC., has filed a lawsuit against their portfolio company MedWhat.com, Inc. in the Superior Court of California in the County of San Francisco. The filing to the court was done on April 9th, 2018, with the case number CGC-18-565596.
Stanford-StartX Fund is a partnership between Stanford University, Stanford Health Care, and StartX that invests in Stanford University's students, alumni, professors, and research companies through the Stanford University accelerator StartX.
MedWhat.com, Inc. is a medical artificial intelligence company that participated in the 2013 StartX program and is affiliated with Stanford University. The Stanford-StartX Fund was invested in MedWhat in 2014, 2015, and 2017. MedWhat develops medical deep learning, machine learning, natural language processing and personalized medicine. MedWhat is building a unified algorithmic architecture to achieve human-level intelligence in medicine. The team is made of a group of doctors, data scientist, A.I. PhDs and medical researchers from Stanford.
