Will Google be the end of ChatGPT or the other way around, let us find out

In this post, we try to find a link to why Google could mean the end of ChatGPT.

Google's stock worth dropped by US$100 billion in a single day in February. Its AI chatbot Bard had a very bad debut. People noticed a mistake in its response. Then everyone agreed that Google had lost its marbles. The first autocomplete suggestion today when you input "Will Google lose…" in the search box is "Will Google lose…to ChatGPT?" Then then, if you were a gambler, you may have bet right away on Microsoft. Through its parent firm OpenAI, the IT giant has invested in ChatGPT and integrated it into its search engine Bing. But everything changed last week. Over 140 times was the word "AI" used by Google executives during their two-hour annual conference! They include it in every one of their products. And everyone adored it. The price of Google shares rose 8%.

Here's what happened.

Well, firstly Google didn't want to lose its search ads. Here is how the search functions right now. Simply write your inquiry into the box to have a plethora of blue links generated for you. Google enabled bids from advertisers for terms like insurance. At the top of the list would be those who paid the most. We typically click on anything from Page 1 since our attention spans are short and we don't want to navigate through several links and pages. This was how Google made a lot of money because it was the dominant search engine. In actuality, nearly 60% of Google's top line comes from search advertising. Apple doesn't even place much importance on the iPhone. It accounts for around 50% of the business's revenue.

Imagine a situation where you could obtain information without clicking on a blue link ever again in your life. Simply type your question to receive a straightforward explanation. To us, it is magnificent. However, this will be the end of Google. Their ad revenue would be destroyed. It would be impossible for the computer giant to compensate advertising for clicks since nobody would click on anything anymore.

Google isn't quite rethinking search yet, though. The billions of dollars in ad search income have quite a hold on it. So, it is exercising caution. According to the earliest videos, Google would just spew out a conversational response at the top. make you feel as though you are conversing with a kind stranger. You may still click on a ton of links and advertisements, though. So, you don't even need to leave a Google search to get the "recommended" electric toothbrush. Additionally, since AI is now a part of almost every Google product in the ecosystem, ChatGPT's use cases will diminish even further. like the routine act of sending emails.

Google is hoping to finally win the AI war by integrating AI capabilities into products that customers already like using. But whether it will be successful or not is debatable.
