In a recent poll by AMD, it was shown that 67% of IT executives agreed that AI can boost worker productivity. This may be encouraging in a world that is changing quickly and where many people fear that AI may displace IT professionals and cause job loss.
The results of an AMD poll of 2,500 global IT leaders were just made public. The adoption of enterprise AI and the leaders' current IT department goals were covered in the poll. According to the findings, 68% of CEOs support the use of AI to "help work models function more efficiently." Given that the poll also revealed that more than 50% of IT leaders haven't yet tried out the newest natural language processing (NLP) services, such as ChatGPT, Bing AI, Google Bard, and others, this optimism is noteworthy.
However, more than 50% of IT leaders said that a five-year strategy to completely integrate AI into the workplace is the best course of action because their organizations are not yet prepared to implement AI. Despite so, more than two-thirds of IT leaders have already started collecting funds to launch AI projects. Security concerns, a lack of IT infrastructure capable of handling Artificial Intelligence workloads, and the requirement for ongoing training are the three main obstacles preventing widespread AI implementation in their departments.
One of the IT leaders in the study spoke about some of the barriers to widespread enterprise AI adoption by saying, "Security is a key factor since we deal with lots of sensitive consumer data, and we need to be satisfied this can be secured."
The hesitation to fully integrate AI into the workplace is understandable given the lack of confidence many businesses have in the new technology and their decision to not prioritize it. 90% of IT leaders that prioritize AI currently observe increased workplace productivity, and the majority are confident that AI can address security and productivity concerns as well as enhance automated cybersecurity threat detection capabilities.
