On January 3, Intel Corporation and DigitalBridge Group Inc. announced the establishment of Articul8 AI Inc. This independent business provides corporate clients with a full-stack, vertically optimized, and secure generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) software platform.
Articul8 was built using Intel intellectual property (IP) and technology, and the platform's AI capabilities retain client data, training, and inference within the business security perimeter, with cloud, on-premises, or hybrid deployment options. Articul8 could set Intel as one of the leading generative AI companies in India.
Arun Subramaniyan, former vice president and general manager of Intel's data center and AI business, has been appointed CEO of Articul8. Intel will continue cooperating with the firm to increase GenAI usage and capitalize on go-to-market prospects.
In a news statement, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger stated, "With its deep AI and HPC domain knowledge and enterprise-grade GenAI deployments, Articul8 is well positioned to deliver tangible business outcomes for Intel and our broader ecosystem of customers and partners." As Intel drives AI everywhere, we look forward to continuing our work with Articul8."
DigitalBridge Ventures served as the project's principal investor. At the same time, Intel and other venture capitalists, including Fin Capital, Mindset Ventures, Communitas Capital, GiantLeap Capital, GS Futures, and Zain Group, purchased shares in the firm.
In the same news announcement, Digital Bridge CEO Marc Ganzi stated, "Every global enterprise today is challenged to integrate GenAI capabilities into their workflows." Articul8 has created a scalable and easy-to-deploy GenAI software platform that is already helping businesses unlock value from proprietary data. We see GenAI as a key driver of digital infrastructure, and we are excited to work with Intel to assist Articul8's growth."
The turnkey GenAI software platform claims to provide speed, security, and cost-efficiency, enabling major corporate users to operationalize and expand AI. Although Articul8 was designed and optimized for Intel hardware architectures, such as Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs and Intel Gaudi accelerators, it will support a variety of hybrid infrastructure options. The technology was initially deployed at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and the team has since scaled the platform to enterprise customers in industries requiring both high levels of security and specialized domain knowledge, such as aerospace, semiconductors, financial services, and telecommunications.
Rich Lesser, BCG's global chair, said of the technology: "GenAI is at the forefront of our customers' business strategy and demands. Our relationship began roughly two years ago, while the initiative was still in its formative stage at Intel. Since then, we've implemented Articul8 solutions for a number of clients looking for production-ready platforms with a quick time to market."
