Stack Overflow to Slash 28% of Staff Due to AI Chatbots

IndustryTrends

Stack Overflow is a popular online platform for programmers to ask and answer coding questions.

The company announced that it is laying off 28% of its employees, mainly from its sales and marketing teams, as part of a restructuring plan to improve profitability and efficiency.

The layoff comes at a time when the coding industry is facing increasing competition from AI chatbots, such as OpenAI's ChatGPT.

That can generate code and answer coding queries using natural language processing and machine learning.

Stack Overflow has banned the use of ChatGPT on its platform, citing its inaccuracy and ethical concerns.
