Gmail Simplifies Unsubscribing Process for Spam Emails

IndustryTrends

Gmail will require bulk email senders to include a prominent unsubscribe button in their messages, making it easier for users to opt out of unwanted emails.

The new unsubscribe button will appear next to the sender's information in the email header, allowing users to unsubscribe with one click.

The new policy will apply to senders who send more than 5,000 emails to Gmail addresses in one day, and they will have to process unsubscription requests within two days.

The new policy is part of Gmail's efforts to improve email security and reduce spam, as Gmail already blocks nearly 15 billion unwanted emails every day using AI-powered defenses.

The new policy will benefit users by giving them more control over their inboxes and reducing email overload, as well as benefit senders by improving their reputation and deliverability.
