American philosopher and linguist Noam Chomsky described ChatGPT, a sophisticated artificial intelligence chatbot from OpenAI, as "basically high-tech plagiarism".

He also noted that children automatically embrace this technology to avoid learning and it is "a symptom that the educational system is failing".

According to the linguist, professors have employed various systems to identify plagiarism for years, but it's going to be more difficult since it's simpler to plagiarise.
