AI Creates Child Abuse Images Overwhelms Internet

A safety watchdog has warned that the "worst nightmares" regarding AI-generated child sexual assault photos are coming reality and threaten to dominate the internet.

The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) reported finding approximately 3,000 AI-created abuse photos that violated UK legislation.

According to the UK-based group, existing photos of real-life assault victims are being fed into AI models, which subsequently generate new portrayals of them.

The technique was also used to produce photographs of celebrities who had been "de-aged" and then presented as minors in sexual assault situations, according to the report.

Other instances of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) include the use of AI algorithms to "nudify" internet images of dressed youngsters.
