Meta has launched a pilot program with the Center for Open Science (COS) to study the impact of Instagram on teen mental health
Researchers will have access to six months of Instagram data, including information on followers, followed accounts, account settings, and time spent on the app
The data shared will not include users' demographic information or the content of their posts and comments.
The study will include data from Instagram accounts based in 24 countries, including the US and UK
The research aims to identify potential positive or negative associations between Instagram use and the mental health of teens and young adults
