Elon Musk Deepfake Used in YouTube Live Crypto Scam

A YouTube Live broadcast used an Elon Musk deepfake to promote a crypto scam, promising to double investments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Dogecoin.

The stream peaked with over 30,000 viewers, possibly inflated by bots, and was promoted on YouTube’s Live Now section.

The account @elon.teslastream, posing as Tesla, had a verified badge, indicating a potential hack; both the video and channel were removed after intervention from Google.

Fake Elon Musk deepfake scams have surged recently, mimicking events from Tesla and SpaceX to deceive viewers.
