India to Launch Public AI Platform Under IndiaAI Mission

The Cabinet has approved the comprehensive national-level IndiaAI mission with a budget outlay of Rs.10,371.92 crore to strengthen the AI innovation ecosystem.
A high-end scalable AI computing ecosystem comprising 10,000 or more GPUs will be established through public-private partnerships, aimed at catalyzing AI innovation.
This center will focus on the development and deployment of indigenous Large Multimodal Models (LMMs) and domain-specific foundational models in critical sectors.
A unified data platform will be developed to provide seamless access to quality non-personal datasets for AI innovation, aiding Indian startups and researchers.
This initiative will promote AI applications in critical sectors, focusing on developing and scaling impactful AI solutions for large-scale socio-economic transformation.
