This chip design mainly targets transformer models, which are needed when running large language models like ChatGPT. By feeding exclusively on these models, Sohu could channel more computational power to them, which potentially can make out-of-box, huge strides in AI capabilities based on specialization. Such specialization is expected to open new vistas for applications in AI and make the processes so much more efficient in viewing real-time, multimodal, and multilingual AI interactions.
